Off line for a while

HI, I'm going to be off line for I don't know how long. I have recently started to homeschool my children for various reasons. None of which I foresaw! It sort of just jumped out and became necessary. Anyways, we are having a blast, but it is taking up a lot of my time. I will post more patterns when I get them ready. Which should be right after school gets out. HOPEFULLY.

18" Doll Bib Overalls

I adjusted this pattern from the Cabbage Patch Baby Overall Pattern I found on www.crochetville.org This is a very cute pattern, but it didn't quite fit my needs. Please check out the orignal pattern!

18" Doll Bib Overalls

Worsted weight yarn
H size hook
Stitch Markers
Yarn Needle for weaving in ends
Button. 1/2 " I think ?

This is worked in Rounds and they are NOT joined with a slip stitch., but worked in a continuous spiral.

Chain 44. Join into a circle.

Rnd 1: HDC once in each st. Place a stich marker in #22.

Rnd 2-10: HDC in to each stitch around.

Legs

Rnd 11: HDC in first 22 stitches. Place a marker in #22.

Rnd 12: Begin this round in first stitch of Round 11. All remaining stitches on rnd 10 will remain unworked for now. HDC in each stitch. 22 HDC.

Rnd 13-26: HDC in each stitch around. 22 HDC.

rnd 27 Slip stitch in each HDC until it is even across the bottom. join and finish off.

Work the other leg in the same fashion. Join in the first unworked stitch on round 10. Leave a long tail to sew up hole in the crotch.

Bib area:

Join yarn in the middle stitch of back. Sc in each free loop of unworked chain. join with slip stitch. Fasten off.

Row 1. Join Yarn in stitich number 11--this will be on the side of the overals. sc in the next 22 stitches. mark last stitch.

row 8: Ch 1 turn, counts as first HDC. HDC in next 3 HDC. (4 HDC)

row 9-20: Ch 2 Turn, Counts as first HDC. HDC in each HDC across (4 HDC)

row 21: Chain 4. Slip stich in last HDC. Finish Off

For other Strap Join yarn in the last 4 stiches of row 8. continue on in the same fashion.

Back area:

row 2: join in last worked stich of row 1. (marked) Sc in each stitch across to first worked stich. Do not join.

row 3: Sc in each stitch across. Fasten off.

Sew a button to center of row 2. This is for the back straps to fasten.

Work in all remaining loose ends.

Again this is just an adjusted form of the original. Please see the original for changes that were made. It also has a cute shirt that I am working on adjusting for the 18" doll as well. That should be a later post. You could probably make the legs shorter for "short overalls", but I wanted long ones for this project.

Happy Crocheting!

18" doll Headband

This works for any 18" doll I think. I used it to fix my daughters dolls hair. She had cut if a few years ago and I decided to hold off on fixing her hair until, she had learned NOT to cut her dolls hair. There ended up being a bald patch right in front. So of course I HAD to hide it! LOL!

18 Inch Doll Headband:
Using worsted weight 4 ply
Size H hook

row 1: Ch 2, sc in second loop from hook.

row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in sc

row 3: Ch 1, (first sc made) sc in fist sc, 2 sc in next sc.

row 4: Ch 1, (first sc made), skip first sc, sc in each stich across : 4 sc including first chain.

Rows 5-25: repeat row 4.

row 26: ch 1, decrease over first 2 sc, decrease over next two sc. :2 stitches

row 27: ch 1, decrease over the 2 stitiches.

chain 20 stitches. Check to see if it is a snug fit. If it is slip stitch to row 1. If it isn't, pull out a stitch or two to make it snug and slip stich to row 1. FINISH OFF.

A new start

Today I have started this blog. I am going to try to keep up on it, but I'm not promising much. This is to keep track of some of my crochet projects. Changes to patterns that I find on the internet and other odds and ends that I can come up with.

Right now I am working on American Girl patterns. If you have some you don't mind sharing, I'd love you to add it on!

Thanks,
